This item is very poorly engineered. Mine broke after its first use. The plastic is thin and brittle and cracked along a seam of the waffle iron. Despite looking like metal this thing is in fact almost entirely plastic painted to look like metal. Usually you get what you pay for ... except with this thing, you don't even get that.
